Job Title: Project Assistant (Communities and Resource Governance Programme - Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu)

Description: Dakshin Foundation is looking for a candidate who can develop grassroots leadership skills among youth from select fishing villages, create community-based SSF databases to make migration processes safer, experiment with ICT technologies to create a community emergency communication system, and share and disseminate knowledge on important coastal governance provisions.

Requirements:

1) A minimum of one year of work experience demonstrating independent field work

experience in projects relating to environment / development.

2) A basic understanding of issues related to development, conservation and environmental

governance in India.

3) Ability and commitment to working with rural marginalised communities

4) Ability to independently organise group meetings and undertake field logistics and

coordination.

5) Good written and verbal communication skills in Tamil (compulsory)

Location: The position requiresthe individual to make Nagapattinam as their primary base.
